Toasted Old Fashioned
A decadent twist on the Old Fashioned, featuring toasted marshmallow, rich chocolate, and vanilla bean layered over the smoky oak, caramel, and bold character of Knob Creek 9-Year Bourbon.

9 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey
- 0.5 Honey Syrup
- of lemon bitters
- brûléed marshmallow (for garnish)
How to craft
Split one vanilla pod lengthwise and cut into thirds. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Add the vanilla bean and heat over medium, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool before using.
In a mixing glass, combine:
- 3 dashes chocolate bitters
- ½ part vanilla bean syrup
- 2 parts Knob Creek 9-Year Bourbon
Add fresh ice (large cube recommended) and stir gently until the cocktail is well chilled and properly diluted.
Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with a brûléed marshmallow on a cocktail pick.
